30, June- 2021, Mumbai: – Popular TV actor, Dipika Kakar Ibrahim shot to fame as Simar Bhardwaj in Sasural Simar Ka where she essayed the role of a dutiful daughter-in-law.
She had been associated with the show since its inception in 2011, which is considered to be one of the longest-running shows on the then newly-formed TV channel, Colors.
Sasural Simar Ka aired its season 2 from April 2021 on Colors TV where Dipika Kakar was roped in once again. However, there were speculations that she would be appearing for a limited number of episodes, even before the show was aired.
Addressing the speculations surrounding her character, Dipika reveals on her YouTube channel, “My track was always going to be this long. When Rashmi (producer) ma’am called me, the duration of character was already decided and she was very clear with me from day one. She told me that she needs me for around 2- 2-and-half months. I was more than happy to do it.”
The actress further revealed that there was an emotional reason to join the second season. “Whoever I am today is because of Colors and Sasural Simar Ka. I got the opportunity to pay back and we don’t get this chance often. We need to give it our best and I gave it my 200% and I am very proud about it.”
Dipika added that she’s currently on a break from work. “I wasn’t taking up any shows but when Rashmi ma’am called me for a meeting, I couldn’t turn it down. I have to do it, it’s my duty,” she added.
Dipika Kakar Ibrahim as Simar Bhardwaj became a well-known household name after starring in one of the most popular shows on Colors TV, Sasural Simar Ka.
