“Blinken’s Visit to Strengthen Indo-US Ties:” US State Department

NEW DELHI, July 28: The United States has claimed that the current two-day visit to India by its Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will “reaffirm the United States’ commitment to strengthening our partnership and underscore cooperation on our shared priorities.”

In a detailed statement issued by the US state department in Washington in connection with Blinken’s visit to New Delhi touched upon various aspects of the Indo-US relations including jointly combating Corona pandemic and climate change issues.

Blinken, who arrived in Delhi on Tuesday, called on the prime minister Narendra Modi, the external affairs minister S Jaishankar, the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and other leaders besides meeting some civil society members and others before leaving for Kuwait on Wednesday. During his meetings, Blinken is believed to have discussed a wide range of issues, including continued cooperation on COVID-19 response efforts, Indo-Pacific engagement, shared regional security interests, shared democratic values, and addressing the climate crisis.

The state department paragraphed the statement in various sub-headings including “Deepening the U.S.-India Partnership”, “The Indo-Pacific Front and Center”, “Deterring Our Adversaries and Defending Our Interests”, “Combating the Covid-19 Pandemic”, and, “Tackling the Climate Crisis”.
