New Delhi: Infosys chairman on Friday praised the government of India for its vaccination drive launched on January 16. “India will be a role model on how to vaccinate a billion people at scale, speed and in a trusted manner,” he said.

On the vaccination process of the government of India – Nilekani said “India will have a vaccine surplus in six months from now. We will be able to scale up to a few million vaccinations a day. The government is issuing digital vaccination certificates with QR codes which is a good thing.”
The government of India approved two made in India vaccines for vaccination drive. Government approved Covisheild vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute in alliance with Oxford and AstraZeneca, and Covaxin, which has been developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech for vaccination.
India has vaccinated over a million people since it launched the vaccination drive last Saturday.
