According to the media reports, customs officials in China have destroyed 30,000 incorrect world maps prints in the country for not mentioning Arunachal Pradesh and Taiwan as a part of its territory.

To highlighting its stand, China claims Arunachal Pradesh is a part of south Tibet and routinely it seems the visiting state to Indian leaders.

Being an internal part of India, political leaders visit the Arunachal from time to time just like they visit other parts of the country. India and China are so far that it takes 21 rounds of talks to resolve the border issue covering 3488 km long line of actual control (LAC).

State-run Global times reported on Tuesday that 30,000 destroyed maps were meant for export to an unspecified country.

Around 30,000 world maps are showing Taiwan is a separate country and wrong representation of the Sino-Indian border, were destroyed by the customs authorities in Qingdao.

Liu Wenzong, professor from the department of International Law of China Foreign Affairs University, said “What China did in the map market was absolutely legitimate and necessary, because sovereignty and territorial integrity are the most important things to a country. Both Taiwan and South Tibet are parts of China’s territory which is sacred and inviolable based on the international law.”
