Schoolgoings’ appeal: Planning to Protest against Offline exams, CBSE students to Government, fearing COVID-19
Ahmedabad: Amid the ongoing pandemic, students of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), afraid of coronavirus, appealed to the government to postpone the exams or cancel it, says reports.
Earlier, in the wake of the rising number of coronavirus cases in Delhi, a number of students had appealed to the government to cancel or postpone their exams.
“Currently, conducting exams offline is not a solution. It will put the life of students in danger as the number of cases in the national capital and across the country are increasing rapidly every day. In such times, travelling from one place to another place will put students at an increased risk of getting infected,” a student said.
Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, CBSE students, NEET-JEE aspirants and several other final year college students have planned to stage a protest from home against the Centre’s decision to conduct exams in September.
According to reports, All India Student Association (AISA) and Student Federation of India (SFI) have mutually decided to conduct a protest in near future.
Students have claimed that they are not against the examinations however, don’t want the offline exams to happen.
“If exams are conducted now, I will have to travel 2,000 kms, risk my life and appear for the exams. We students are not against the holding of exams but our request is to postpone it at least till December,” said a student.
Moreover, students said, “We have already learnt many subjects through online classrooms so why are they forcing us for offline exams?”
