NEW DELHI, August 27: The Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and his Bollywood actor wife Anushka Sharma are expecting their first child in January, next year.
The information was revealed by Anushka on Twitter on Thursday. “And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021.” Virat shared the same tweet on his profile.
There immediately were flurry of congratulatory messages. Priyanka Chopra, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Samantha Akkineni, Taapsee Pannu, Parineeti Chopra, Dia Mirza, Mouni Roy, Kiara Advani, Sanya Malhotra, Sagarika Ghatge, Pooja Hegde, Richa Chadha, Vaani Kapoor, Preity Zinta were among many others to wish the couple.
Virat and Anushka tied the knot at a countryside resort in Tuscany, Italy on December 11, 2017. The wedding was a close-knit affair with family and friends. The couple later hosted two lavish wedding receptions in Delhi and Mumbai which was attended by cricket and Bollywood celebrities. Their wedding reception in Delhi was also attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the work front, Anushka was last seen in the 2018 film Zero alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. She is yet to announce her next project as an actor.
Virat is currently the captain of the Indian cricket team in all the three formats—tests, one dayers and 20-20, and is expected to lead the Royal Challengers, Bangalore, in the coming edition of the IPL next month.
