New Delhi: The Indian Air Force is planning to buy 10 anti-drone systems to prevent unpredicted activities of enemy nations. After the drone attack at the Indian Air Base in Jammu and Kashmir – The Indian Air Force has decided to acquire ten counter-unmanned aircraft systems (CUAS) to guard its airbases.

The IAF has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to acquire counter-unmanned aircraft systems (CUAS) from Indian companies.

According to RFI “The CUAS is intended to detect, track, identify, designate and neutralize hostile UAS. Laser-Directed Energy Weapons (Laser-DEWs) are essentially required as a kill option,”

In the last month, two low-intensity explosions were reported in the technical area of Jammu Air Force Station. In these two explosions, one caused minor damage to the roof of a building while the other exploded in an open area.

As per the official statement, The Indian Air Force expecting CUAS to provide a “multi-sensor, multi-kill solution” to effectively enforce no-fly zones for micro and mini drones while causing “minimum collateral damage” to the environment.

The IAF further in its RFI release said that “It should generate a composite air situational picture for the operator and generate alerts based on user-defined parameters. All the ten CUAS are required in mobile configuration mounted on indigenous vehicles with cross-country capability and powered by an indigenous Electrical Power Supply (EPS) system.

The counter-unmanned aircraft systems should be available to shoot down Global Navigation Satellite Jammer System (GNSS) and RF Jammer and Laser-based Directed Energy Weapon (Laser-DEW).

The CUAS should have provision for dismounting of all subsystems including integral power solution from the vehicle and mounting on rooftop/ open ground. The systems should be equipped with Phased Array Radar, RF sensor, Electro-Optical and Infra-Red (EO/IR) system.

The government of India started to take all the necessary steps to prevent unpredicted activities of enemy nations. In the last few months, relations of the New Delhi government with the Beijing government and the Islamabad government are spoiled.

International experts have also suggested and expressed their views over the relations of the New Delhi government with China and Islamabad. They have predicted that the way situations are going – the central government of India may take a long time to develop relations with China and Pakistan.
