Coronavirus cases: India records 17 per cent hike in one day

New Delhi: India has registered around 17 per cent hike in coronavirus cases on Wednesday. As per the government data – India reported 38310 covid-19 cases on Monday while 46253 fresh cases are registered on Wednesday.

In the last 24 hours – more than 53 thousand coronavirus infected patients were discharged.

The number of total active cases in India is 533787 and total tally is 8313877. On November 3, 1209609 samples were tested.

Data from the health ministry – defines that there has been a continuous decline in the average daily new cases for the last seven weeks and from September 16 to September 22 – the daily new cases used to hover around 90346 which came down to around 60000 between October 14 and 20.

From October 28 to November 30 – the average in India has come down to 45884.

Deaths due to coronavirus also plummeted drastically in India in the last seven weeks. Health ministry data reveals average daily death used to be 1165 between September 16 and 22 and Between October 14 and 20 it was decreased and came down to 763.

Indian recorded average 513 deaths from October 28 to November 3 and the states have been asked to proactively pursue Test-Track-Trace and Treat strategy during the on-going festive season.

Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh are reporting a decline in the number of active cases in the last month.
