Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal wholeheartedly congratulates the Central Government for approving the National Education Policy.
Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal has been working on National Education Policy since 1974. A comprehensive document was created outlining the integrated & holistic Education Policy for the country. In January 2014, this document was circulated in English &seven Bharatiya languages throughout the country. Discussions & deliberations were conducted in more than 450 districts and suggestions, inputs and feedback were collected from 4 lakh people on the ground over a period of 2 years. Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal submitted the modified draft to the National Education Policy Committee.
We are grateful to the scholarly committee headed by Honourable Dr. K. Kasturirangan for positively considering these recommendations. It is really commendable that almost 60% of suggestions have found a place in the National Education Policy announced today in some form or the other. Some of the important features of the policy that are capable of a total paradigm shift are as under:
- Renaming the Human Resource Development Ministry to the Ministry of Education.
- Formation of Rashtriya Shiksha Aayog.
- Formation of the National Research Foundation.
- Bringing in flexibility in School Education.
A detailed comment would be placed after the study of the actual policy document.
Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal has enlisted 19 action points (attached herewith) for ground-level effective implementation of the National Education Policy.
