57 hours curfew in Ahmedabad: Medical stores and Milk shops will remain open

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government has recorded a noticeable hike in coronavirus cases in the last few days and now the government has announced curfew in Ahmedabad city from 20 November 9pm to 22 November 6 AM.

Ahmedabad will remain under 57 hours long curfew and in this time, milk and medical stores will remain open.

The Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel fixed the meeting with senior officials of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and a decision of curfew was taken in this meeting.

The decision came hours after Additional Chief Secretary, forest and environment Rajiv Kumar Gupta, who is in charge of the Covid situation in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), announced an indefinite night curfew from Friday.

According to government data – In Ahmedabad, 246 covid-19 cases were detected on November 19 and more than 1400 cases were registered in the last one week.

Coronavirus cases are increasing in Baroda, Surat and Rajkot also and administration of that city may announce curfew also to stop the spread of the deadliest virus.

The state government also sanctioned 300 doctors and 300 medical students for Ahmedabad city on Thursday. For areas around Ahmedabad, such as Sabarmati, Chandkheda and Motera, 100 additional beds are being reserved for Covid patients at Gandhinagar Civil Hospital.

On the coronavirus spread in the city – AMC on Thursday informed that “We have increased the number of ambulances to help the people of the city and now there are 40 ambulanced on the road to help.”

A state government has changed its plan to start the schools and colleges in the state. On the reopening of schools and colleges – The Education Minister of Gujarat Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that “We have withdrawn the decision to reopen schools and colleges from November 23 for the time being. It will be decided in due course,”
