Second Batch of Rafale Fighter Jets Arrive in India

AHMEDABAD (GUJARAT), Nov 4: The second batch of Rafale fighter jets, three in number this time, arrived at the Jamnagar air base in Gujarat from France on Wednesday further boosting Indian Air Force’s defence powers, defence sources confirmed.

Media reports said the IAF was expected to receive three to four Rafale jets every two months, till all 36 finally arrive.

A team, led by a two-star officer, was in France in October to review the progress of the Rafale project.

The Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) Western Air Command Air Marshal B Suresh had welcomed the first five IAF Rafales when these arrived at Air Force Station Ambala on July 29.

Rafale is a 4.5 generation aircraft and has the latest weapons, superior sensors and fully integrated architecture.
