Kolkata: Trinamool Congress MP and Former Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi joined BJP on Saturday. After joining the BJP – Dinesh Trivedi said that “This was the golden moment I had been waiting for.”

Trivedi joined the BJP in the presence of party president JP Nadda and Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Dharmendra Pradhan.

“I was waiting for this “Golden Moment” and Family is supreme for some parties but for BJP – people are supreme.” Trivedi added

Dinesh Trivedi praised the Modi government for its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and the issues involving neighbouring countries.

Last month – some big heads of TMC quit the party to join BJP.

BJP chief JP Nadda said “he was the right person in the wrong party. Now he is in the right party”.

“Trivedi has long experience in politics. He has undertaken an ideological journey and fought for ideologies keeping power apart. He is like flowing water and it is only BJP that can amalgamate people of different ideologies,” Nadda said.

According to the political experts “Resigns of TMC leaders could be a huge challenge for Mamata Banerjee in the Assembly election.”

A 70 year old Dinesh Trivedi was once close confident of TMC president Banerjee was her choice for holding the important railway ministry portfolio in the Union Cabinet during the UPA government.

After losing the Lok Sabha election in 2019, he was sent to the Rajya Sabha by the party.
