ULPIN means Unique Land Parcel Identification Number. This system is recently launched by GOI.
This system will be launched in some states initially as pilot project in March-2022. These ten states are Haryana, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Sikkim, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.
ULPIN is like Aadhar card number for piece of land. It will be 14 digit alpha-numeric identification numbers.
ULPIN will be prepared based on latitude and longitude coordinates of the land.
The ULPIN will help to develop a land bank.
The ULPIN system will lead India towards Integrated Land Information Management System.
With the help of this system land records will be kept up to date.
Not only records but all the property transactions shall be linked with this system.
The system will make sharing of land record data across the departments easier.
