New Delhi: The suspension of internet service has extended for two days more at Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri borders, Delhi.

The MHA officials on Monday said that “The Ministry of Home Affairs has extended the suspension of internet services at the farmer protest sites in Singhu, Ghazipur and Tikri borders till Tuesday night.”

A decision has been taken to ‘maintain public safety and averting public emergency’ under Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services Rules 2017, a Home ministry official said.

The suspension of the internet is effective from 11 pm of January 31 to 11 pm of February 2.

The government has already suspended internet service in certain areas of Delhi after large scale violence was reported.

According to sources some protesters may try to spread the fake news through various Social media and try to disrupt the peace in the national capital. Suspension of internet service could affect online work also.
