Special bonus: At $10 bn mark, HCL Tech to pay Rs. 656 cr to staff!

Mumbai: At a time when the world is still suffering the adverse economic impact because of the pandemic—including company closures or layoffs—India’s HCL Technologies Ltd has announced a hefty bonus for its employees across the globe.

On Monday, the company announced a special one-time bonus to employees around the world to celebrate an occasion: it crossed the revenue mark of USD 10 billion (Rs. 7,300 crores). The bonus is equivalent to 10 days’ salaries for these employees.

The special bonus will be paid to employees this month (February 2021) and will amount to approximately USD 90 million (Rs 656 crore).

“Our employees are our most valuable asset. Despite an unrelenting pandemic, each and every member of our HCL family has demonstrated immense commitment and passion, contributing to the growth of the organization.

“The $10 b revenue milestone is a testament of our remarkable resilience as an organization and the entrepreneurial spirit of our 159,000+ employees. With this gesture, we want to sincerely express our gratitude to our employees and their families for all their support,” said Apparao VV, Chief Human Resources Officer.

The Noida-headquartered Information Technology company had crossed the $10 billion mark in the calendar year 2020, delivering year-on-year growth of 3.6 percent.
