KOLKATA, Jan 27: The former India cricket captain and currently the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly was admitted in the hospital on Wednesday again after he complained of chest pain, his family sources said.

It is learnt that Ganguly felt uneasiness last evening and felt mild chest pain this morning after which his family members decided to take him to Apollo Hospital.

According to the latest update from the hospital, the 48-year-old’s condition is stable. “There is no change in his parameters since his last hospitalisation and vital parameters are stable,” read the official statement from the hospital.

Ganguly underwent angioplasty on his right coronary artery at Woodlands Hospital earlier this month after he suffered a mild heart attack. He was discharged a few days later but attending doctors advised him angioplasty on other coronary arteries as well.

Media reports said the Kolkata Police created a green corridor for smooth travel from his Behala residence to the hospital off the E M Bypass.

A nine-member medical team was formed and opinions were sought from renowned experts and cardiac surgeons including Devi Shetty, R K Panda, Samuel Mathew and Aswin Mehta from India and Shamin K Sharma from New York before a stent was implanted, hospital sources said.
