Srinagar: The Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday eliminated four terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). This is another encounter of Indian security forces with terrorists in the shopian sector.

Earlier this month, on March 16, two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Shopian.

On today’s encounter – an official said that “A joint operation by the security forces and local police was launched on Monday morning in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian following inputs on terrorists’ presence in the Munihal area of the city. The encounter was initiated based on the inputs provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.” Officials said.

India and Pakistan have recently signed an agreement to maintain a ceasefire on the LoC border and the encounter comes on the backdrop of a ceasefire agreement.

However, India has made it clear that there will be no compromise on the on-going Counter Insurgency – Counter Terror (CI-CT) operations in the Valley.
