Mumbai: Amazon Prime Video has officially shown the green signal to the second season of the super-hit Brazilian crime drama, Dom.
The critically acclaimed series revolves around a father-son duo on opposite sides of a war against drugs.
Based in Rio de Janeiro, the series is inspired by true events.
The first season of Dom, which premiered exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on June 4, 2021, became a hit across the world. Sixty percent of global viewers crowned it as the most-watched Brazilian-origin content.
Directed by Vicente Kubrusly and Breno Silveira and produced by Silveira, Renata Brandão and Ramona Bakker, the first season of the show follows a young driver, Victor, a military intelligence agent embracing a war against drugs as his life mission.
Later, he becomes disillusioned about endless war, watching his son Pedro succumbing to drugs, something he tirelessly fought against. Pedro turns into an addict as well as one of the most wanted criminals in Rio de Janeiro, going by the name of Pedro Dom.
Season 2 will explore the life of Pedro Dom in greater detail. The audiences will get a peek into Pedro’s metamorphosis from cocaine addict to become one of the most wanted criminals in Rio.
