Ahmedabad: The Education Minister of Gujarat – Bhupendra Chudasma on Wednesday announced that “The classes of standard 10 and 12 will restart in schools from January 11. All schools have to follow the coronavirus guidelines which are issued by the central government.”

The Gujarat government had earlier revoked its decision to reopen the educational institutions from November 23 in the wake of rising coronavirus cases post Diwali.

All the educational institutions and schools-colleges have remained off since March, 2020 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of deadliest coronavirus.

The Punjab Government is also going to restart the educational activities and classes in schools from January 7.

The Education Minister of Punjab – Vijay Inder Singla said that “The state government has decided to allow physical classes for students of class 5 to 8 from January 7. The schools would be held from 10 am to 3 pm. The order is applicable to all government, semi government and private schools.”

Agartala, Pune, Puducherry, Nagpur and Bihar already reopened schools for higher classes from January 4. Uttar Pradesh and Haryana opened classes from December itself.

Rajasthan government on Tuesday announced the reopening of schools, colleges, and coaching centres in the state from January 18.
