Delhi Violence: Police Seek Information from General Public

NEW DELHI, Jan 29: The Delhi police on Friday urged local people to share the information of protesters involved in the Republic Day violence.

Giving an assurance that the identity of the informants would be kept secret, BK Singh Joint CP of the Crime Branch of Delhi Police, said “All members of the public including media persons, who are witnesses to the incidents or have any information about the incidents or have captured any activity on their mobile phones or cameras, are hereby requested to come forward and give their statements, footages, pictures in their possession at Room Number 215, second floor, old Delhi Police Headquarters, ITO, IP Estate, New Delhi during office hours on any working day.”

Farmers had organized tractor rally on the Republic day and some of them had allegedly tried to attack police officers, in which around 400 police officers were injured and are being treated in Delhi’s local hospitals.

Delhi police had registered 33 FIRs in connection with the violence.

The Delhi police have already alerted the police in other states to keep a vigil on people involved in the violence trying to escape to other places. Assam police already arrested two people allegedly involved in the Delhi violence at the Guwahati airport.
