New Delhi: The Chinese Military on Monday late night announced that China is sending its troops and fighter jets to Pakistan airbase to take part in the latest edition of a bilateral military exercise.

On the exercise – the Chinese military said that “Aim of this exercise is improving actual combat training of two forces.”

China sent its troops and fighter planes to the Pakistani Air Force’s airbase in Bholari at Thatta district in Sindh, which is near India’s Gujarat border.

In its statement – the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) said that “The Chinese air force’s troops set off on December 7 for the Pakistani Air Force’s air base in Bholari at Thatta District in Sindh, northeast of Pakistan’s Karachi to participate in the China-Pakistan Joint Air Force Exercise Shaheen (Eagle) – IX.”

“The joint air force exercise, which will conclude in late December, is a project within the 2020 cooperation plan of the two militaries. It will promote the development of China-Pakistan mil-to-mil relationships, deepen practical cooperation between the two air forces and improve the actual-combat training level of the two sides.” PLA in a statement said.

The last Shaheen drill between China and Pakistan was held in China’s Xinjiang in September 2019 and it was the largest drill in which around 50 warplanes from the two countries took part.

Pakistan Air Force chief Sohail Aman said that “Indeed, PAF Base Bholari is a project of strategic significance for capacity enhancement of Pakistan Air Force in operational domain both overland as well as at sea.”

According to international politics experts – Relations between India and China have disturbed at extreme level after the Galwanghati incident and now China’s this move could damage India-China relations more.

Political experts added that in the last few months – India recognised its real enemy. China is consistently trying to disturb the internal peace of India and fights at LAC.
